Hair loss can be a particularly distressing condition that when it affects women can prove to be extremely stressful and so, it will pay to look a little more closely at why hair loss in women occurs. No doubt, such a problem can arise due to different reasons and can vary from one woman to another though there are still a few common reasons why it occurs and by understanding these causes, one will be able to understand the problem a little better and thus find a more suitable and effective treatment for it.

The first reason why hair loss in women occurs is because of hereditary reasons which is the most common reason for this problem though there are no cures to treat such a problem. Still, women can try treating their hair loss by using lotions that must be applied twice a day, or try another solution which is to go in for hair transplantation.

Often a common reason for female baldness is that many women use too many hair products or have too many beauty services done on their hair, such as color or bleach. Even straighteners can cause havoc to your hair and you have to be careful about these as they can lead to your losing your hair.

Also, alopecia areata is another reason for hair loss in women that will cause the hair to fall out and also leave patches of a small size on their heads and in very rare instances can also lead to completely hairless scalps. If this is what you think is happening, go the doctor at once.

If you have been diagnosed with thyroid disease, you may experience hair loss from that alone. A thyroid problem is when you have a thyroid that either out-performs or under-performs. Check with your doctor about this.

Your body has different coping mechanisms. Sometimes after an infection or high fever, you may experience hair loss after three weeks up to three months. Fortunately, this is a temporary condition and your hair should regrow.

Some medications can cause hair loss or insufficient amounts of protein as well. Women that color their hair too often or in the wrong manner, can often experience female baldness as well or bald spots.

By understanding the various possible reasons for hair loss in women you should be able to find an appropriate solution though it must be mentioned that hair loss in women can occur because of numerous different reasons and thus it is best to get a physician or even a dermatologist to determine the exact reason and then get a treatment prescribed.
